Aether is a ham radio logging application for Mac OS X. Aether includes tools to quickly and easily log QSOs while on the air, as well as organize, search and track your QSOs later. Aether was designed for Mac OS X, and has the same kind of clean, intuitive, friendly interface you've come to expect on the Mac. Check out some of Aether's features below, and click the
download link above to try it out!

Instant Search
If you've used the search feature in iTunes, you know how Aether's search works. Simply type a few letters into the search box on the right side of the window above the table, and as you type, the QSO table immediately updates to show only those QSOs that match your search. You can also narrow results by searching only within a particular field like callsign, name or country.

ADIF Import and Export
Aether provides full support for the
ADIF (Amateur Data Interchange File) format. If you're switching from another logging application that supports ADIF (most do), you can easily transfer your logs to Aether. Aether will also export log files in ADIF format so that they can easily be used with other software.

Modern Mac Application
Aether is a modern Mac application and integrates with Mac OS X technology and features such as Mail, Address Book, Spotlight, AppleScript. Things that you're used to on the Mac, including drag and drop, copy/paste, integrated help, etc, just work.

Spotlight Integration
Aether provides support for Spotlight by "telling" OS X how to read Aether files. Use Spotlight to search for a callsign, name, QTH, or even a snippet of a note you added to a QSO, and included in the results will be Aether log files matching your search.

Rig Control via RS-232
Aether includes support for communication with a transceiver connected via RS-232*. Frequency, mode, and power information is automatically read from your rig and is filled in when you log a QSO.

Google Maps
Google Maps is a great way to get detailed maps of any QTH in the world. In Aether, when you're working a station, all you have to do is hit the "Google Maps" button and your web browser will open with a Google Map zoomed in to the exact location of the station you're talking to.

Cabrillo Import and Export
Aether makes it easy to export Cabrillo files at the end of a contest. Simply fill in the required information, such as contest, operating class, etc, select Export Cabrillo and Aether will create a properly formatted Cabrillo file. Aether can also import Cabrillo files to facilitate easily transferring logs from other logging software.

Automatic Callbook Lookup
Aether has the ability to pull in callbook data from the FCC database. Preferences can be set so that Aether will automatically lookup callbook data when a new callsign is entered into the log. Options for manually performing lookup are also supported.

Automatic Dupe Checking
It's often handy to be quickly know if you've worked a station before. Aether makes this easy. When you enter a callsign to log a new QSO, Aether will quickly indicate how many QSOs you've had with this station in the past, and with one click or keystroke you can display only QSOs with this station. Aether also gives you the option to automatically fill in callbook information, including name and QTH from the most recent past QSO with a station you've worked before.
Aether requires:
Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger or later
PowerPC or Intel Mac
*Serial rig control requires a USB-to-Serial adapter.
Aether supports most Elecraft, Icom, Kenwood and Yaesu rigs.
